March 30, 2021, Washington D.C.  For Immediate Release

People For Liberty (PFL) is happy to announce that Dr. Jo Jorgensen has accepted the position of President of the Board with the organization. People for Liberty is a 501(c)4 nonprofit (People for Liberty, Inc.) focused on engaging people and empowering communities in order to effect change at the local, state, and national levels. They help people seeking freedom find a home.

Jorgensen was the 2020 Libertarian Party Presidential candidate and is the only woman to have been on the ballot on a Presidential Ticket in all fifty states, twice. She joins a People For Liberty leadership team with a wealth of experience in liberty-based advocacy, including Executive Director Dan Fishman, most recently former Executive Director of the Libertarian Party.

“Dr. Jorgensen’s lengthy commitment to advancing the cause of liberty is a story of her perseverance, the growth of a movement and the realization by a weary nation that they are not as free as they once thought. I’m thrilled to be able to say what many voters hoped to hear in 2020 – I get to say ‘Welcome President Jorgensen!’ at our next meeting,” he shared.

Dr. Jorgensen brings significant intellectual firepower and real world chops to the PFL. She holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and enjoyed a successful career in tech, including roles at IBM and as President of HyperTech, Inc. She also holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and has served as a full-time Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Clemson University since 2006.

“I’m always on the lookout for organizations that are putting the principles of the liberty movement into action. The first time I saw a ‘Let Her Speak’ sticker while on the campaign trail, I had to find out who organized the nationwide movement,” Dr. Jorgensen said in an interview. “When I learned People For Liberty was the backbone organization that made the success of that grassroots campaign possible, I started researching. The more I learned about PFL and saw their dedication to engaging people in meaningful opportunities for advocacy, the more I felt they were on track to have a big impact. Post election, as they continued their activism, I knew they were not just a flash in the pan. And when they scooped up Dan Fishman last month to be their Executive Director, it confirmed they were the kind of liberty-minded organization that had not just the vision but the savvy business skills to effect lasting change. So when Dan called me and asked me to be the President, it was an easy answer – yes!”
