Houston LLC—The Role of Local Government Explained

What does the county government actually do? How is it different from city government? Who’s in charge of flood control? Who’s setting your property tax rate? Why do we have sheriffs, constables, and police? What’s the difference?
Be it public safety, infrastructure, or community services, local government policy decisions directly impact your life on a day-to-day basis. But local government issues usually get a fraction of the attention that we devote to state or federal political battles. Join the Houston LLC* for a conversation on the huge and often invisible role local government plays in your day-to-day life. Plus, we will talk about the right way to go about making a difference locally.
