Believe in Education Rally

Here are the facts…
*Nevada is 47th in the nation in per-pupil funding.
*Nevada ranks 50th in the school finance report.
*Nevada is the ONLY state to receive all F’s on the national Education Law Center’s report card. (Funding level, funding distribution, and funding effort)
*Nevada has the largest class sizes in the country.
*Hundreds of millions of dollars are supplanted (diverted) from public education every biennium.
*Washoe county is the lowest funded school district in the State of Nevada.
*Washoe County is ranked in the bottom 5% of districts funded NATIONALLY.
Don’t our students, educators, and community deserve better?
The time for action is NOW!
The reality is that because of the chronic lack of state funding and resources for public education our students and education professionals do not have the type supports and resources they need. We must demand more and our students and educators need our help. As a community we need to come together and fight for our public education system. Our schools are struggling. We need to move beyond “hoping” things will improve and demand that lawmakers ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING to adequately fund our schools and support our students. Change comes from action and we ALL need to start acting now!
Join educators, district leaders, students, and families for the “Believe in Education Rally” to kick off our collective actions going into this legislative session!
We have to turn out as a community to make it loud and clear to lawmakers and state leaders that we can’t continue to fail our students and educators by underfunding our public education system.
