Juneteenth – also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day – is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States.
People For Liberty will be honoring the day with a broadcast talking about the perpetual struggle against slavery that has dogged our history. We’ll have special guests like John Monds, Dr. Aaron Lewis, Larry Sharpe and PFL President Jo Jorgensen, just to name a few. As we get closer to the date we’ll announce more of our guests.
Juneteenth is a critical day for the Liberty movement to honor. The Liberty movement can sometimes despair about the progress that we have made, but we need only to look back to the civil rights movement to realize that things can get better. We should also look at the civil rights movement and remind ourselves, it isn’t over.
